5 of the best Water Parks in Spain

Water parks in spainWho doesn’t love a day at one of the amazing water parks in Spain? Yes, you can have your clay pigeon shooting or your canyoning, paintballing or quads; but when the sun is blazing and the hangover is refusing to shift then plunging down a plastic flume into a cold spray of water 60 feet below you is always a winner – isn’t it?

If you agree, and why wouldn’t you, then take a peek at some of the best water parks that Spain has to offer; each with its own variation on a theme (that being, dropping at speed in your speedos) and each within reasonable proximity to some of the most popular stag and hen destinations in the country.

Western Water Park Magaluf

One of 2 water parks near Majorca’s Mecca for stag and hen weekends. With all the typical rides you’d imagine for this type of park, from the spiralling flumes of varying speeds to the high speed Tornado ride. Generally a good day’s fun after a hard night in the clubs; a few beers, a bit of food and a chance to release the inner child for a couple of hours respite from the adult entertainment. TIP: Take some flip-flops with you, when it’s hot the concrete floor can melt your flesh.

Benalmadena Water Park (Aqualand)

The biggest park of its kind in the Costa Del Sol this is a hugely popular attraction for families and groups alike and another cracking way to spend a few hours in the Costa sunshine on your stag do. With a wide variety of slides and rides, including the hugely popular twister and Europe’s highest slide (at 22m) the Kamikaze. You might want to think about renting a rubber ring when you get there, a lot of the rides use them and it can save you time in the queues.

Aqualandia, Benidorm

Set in its own natural environment Aqualandia is about 10 minute’s taxi ride from the centre of Benidorm and packed with some brilliant, adrenaline fuelled water rides that’ll shake the sambucca out of your system for certain. Set around a large lagoon style wave pool which will periodically swell with some impressive surf the park has a number of fast flumes and The Big Bang (don’t be rude!) which offers one of the largest free-fall style slides in Europe.

Illa Fantasia, Barcelona

A short distance from downtown Barcelona and you can find your way to Illa Fantasia and another chance to cool off and have a laugh in some Spanish sunshine. The park has got over 20 rides from the gentle to the rapid as well as different activities from kids to grown-ups. For families it’s a cool place to come for a bit of fun and a picnic. For a mate’s day out or stag / hen do then there’s a restaurant on site for food and drink in between your plunges.

Siam Park, Costa Adeje, Tenerife

A short taxi ride from the party town of Playa De Las Americas is Siam Park. Another park set around a large lagoon style pool, with some of the largest man-made waves (up to 3m) in Europe. With a variety of the kind of rides you’d expect at such a venue as well there are also plenty of places to chill out in the sun and, if you’re feeling in the mood, you can even get yourself a Thai massage on-site.

Which is nice.
