Welcome to Mourinho’s manor! On our Porto Stadium Tour not only will you meet life-size greats of the Portuguese game (such as Mourinho, Falcao, Deco and Futre) – you’ll glean a few insights into tactics and some of the great European football occasions this club has taken part in. The Dragao is a formidable and beautiful Stadium, rebuilt specially for the European Championships held in Portugal in 2004.
Porto are rated all time number 8 by UEFA for club sides in Europe. That’s impressive, and so is the stadium, the folklore and the presentations It’s well worth a visit!
The Dragon’s Den or El Dragao (they are pretty fiery after all round here) trophy room and facilities, are full of football memories. It’s a must for any serious football fan visiting Porto. Visit the football museum, trophy room, and stadium.
Porto’s “Dragon” Stadium is one of the few that gets a 5-star rating from UEFA. It is located in the Easter side of Porto, but not far at all from the centre (a 10 min cab or 20 min Metro ride) – and on a nice spring night the walk back is fun. The design is award-winning and the place looks great when filled with blue and white fans.
The Porto football museum is open 7 days a week and is packed with impressive technological and interactive features that bring the excitement of football and its legends close. You can see first hand Porto’s impressive two UEFA Champions Winners trophies, and even watch a hologram of legendary-if-controversial President Nuno Pinto da Costa in his house (careful with the hologram dog…it holo-bites!).
Porto’s football history is entwined with the rich history of Porto and Portugal itself, and goes back over 120 years. If you want to combine your stadium tour with a seat for an FC Porto match while you are in Portugal, check out FC Porto fixtures and tickets here.
