Karting Porto is a high speed and hi-tech favourite for stags and even the fussiest drivers. And even those of you who don’t know Brandshatch from a cam shaft will be whizzing round like true Formula 1 experts after a short briefing session.
The cars have powerful engines that certainly nip round the tight bends of the Karting Porto track. The pressure is on your forearms, but timing and non-cluelessness also help loads. It’s about reflexes and timing – conditions that many woolly traditionalists do not consider optimal the morning after – but we’re sure you’ll get the hang of it. .
You’ll have two intensive sessions against the clock (it’s all computer chrono-ed) and that’s usually plenty. Only afterwards will you find out exactly who did the fastest lap (although you may have got an idea you are not exactly Button when you were lapped…)
To really challenge the track record lap time, you might need to be light, to be honest (are you?) but even the heftiest among you will get the adrenalin rush of the speed and g-forces round the bend. Check here for more Porto Stag Do ideas.
To paraphrase Stevie Wonder “Don’t kart drunk”. Apart from the obvious dangers of losing control of the kart, all sorts of horrors can befall hungover lads inside a helmet. It’s hot in there and you’re under some pressure on your forearms manoeuvring the cars. Afternoon bookings work best.
if you are looking to get the wind in your ears and under your helmet (!) – check out our outdoor Porto karting activity – always good when the weather is clement!
