Things to do in Benalmadena

Like an Aston Martin DB7, Citizen Kane, or a pair of well-worn Levi 501’s, Benalmadena is the CLASSIC choice for a Spanish stag or hen do on the Costa del Sol. If you want tried and tested stag satisfaction then look no further for things to do in Benalmadena.  This place is a proven winner, giving you everything a stag group requires – fabulous beaches, (almost) guaranteed sunshine, superb nightlife and a raft of things to do – at prices which are as low as they go. Result!

Yours won’t be the first stag or hen group to saunter down to Benalmadena’s beautiful marina area, supping on an inaugural beer and buzzing with anticipation at the fun to come. Equally, yours won’t be the last stag group to roll out towards Malaga airport with a barrow-load of cloudy party memories and a collection of already legendary stories to look back on. The thing is, Benalmadena is so perfectly set-up for a killer stag experience that its popularity as a pre-wedding blow-out destination comes as no surprise. And there are so many things to do in Benalmadena.

Where is Benalmadena – and what is it!

For a start, Benalmadena is a town divided into two distinct parts, which between them cover all the bases. The first part is Benalmadena Pueblo (the old town) where you can – before things get too rowdy – enjoy a bit of Spanish culture. Think traditional white-washed Andalusian buildings, small tapas taverns and palm-lined squares. The second zone – where our groups are based and (usually) spend most of their time – is Benalmadena Costa, set around the wonderful marina. Here, the bevy of yachts forms an impressive focal-point.

However, just as impressive as the stellar vessels is the sheer choice of bars, shops and restaurants which envelop the port and call for instant exploration. When the time comes to kick things up a notch or two on the alcohol-ometer, then Plaza Solimar (more commonly known as 24hour square) is the place to go. In this crazy bar and club-lined square, the beats thump 24 hours a day, 365 days a year allowing you to party around the clock to your heart’s content.

Dolphins…and endorphins! It’s the Costa del Sol

If reading the above already has you buzzing at the prospect of eating, drinking and partying in Benalmadena, then just imagine the endorphin explosion that the real thing will provoke. However, there is one key aspect of things to do in Benalmadena that we have yet to mention – at The Spain Event we are always ready to soup-up your itinerary with some super-exciting activities! Our list of things to do is vast and varied, catering for both adrenaline-seekers and those who demand relaxation and pampering.

Our karting track is a metaphorical coliseum where you can let loose your competitive instincts. Alternatively, we’d love to introduce you to a Spain Event favourite, Canyoning, in the mountains above the town. If merely paddling in the Med isn’t enough for you, why not conquer the waves on a jet-ski or banana-boat? And if all that just seems a bit much, then our spa-afternoon – in a local health club – will cure any hangover. Of course, these suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg (not that you’ll find any of those in Benalmadena, but you get the point). For a full list of activities, check out our comprehensive guide.

In short, if you’re after a truly memorable sun-and-sand stag-do at prices which are as palatable as the beachside cocktails, then Benalmadena is the obvious choice.

Getting to Benalmadena…and getting away

Getting to Benalmadena is so easy it’s untrue. Once you’ve got your flights to Malaga Airport sorted, then the rest is as easy as AB Seaside. The most obvious (if less glamorous) option is to jump on the train (final destination Fuengirola) at the airport terminal. In just 18 minutes you’ll be hopping off at “Benalmadena – Arroyo de la Miel”. If you require the ultimate in convenience (and top stag organisation kudos from your mates) then the winning choice is private transfer. This way you’ll have transport direct from the airport terminal to the doors of your accommodation. Who said this organisation malarkey was difficult? With a little Spain Event magic, you’ll be hitting the Benalmadena bars before you know it
