Your Porto boat hire duration can be 2 or 3 hours.
Or more! The boats have a capacity of 12 or 14 persons, and come in various shapes and sizes:
- Standard: 10 metres
- Queen Size: 12 metres
- Imperial Size: 14 metres (recommended for 3 hour sails)

Departing Douro Marina
We recommend that all hen groups cruise the wonderful Rio Douro, and enjoy privileged views of the historic and impressive buildings and bridges of Porto city.

The starting point, Douro marina is just a short cab ride from Porto city centre (you can also book a minivan transfer with us). You’ll sail under the famous iron bridges and along past the wine cellars on the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the city.
You can chill out, sunbathe and have a drink of wine or beer. There is no doubt that this is the best way to set up a memorable event for your hen do in Porto (stags are also welcome!).
Note: we also offer boat rentals from Freixo Marina, another harbour near Porto city.

What is the normal schedule for Porto Boat Hire ?
Porto boat hire is available all week, all year. Just make sure you arrive at the marina or boarding pier in good time or you’ll waste precious time!
How much does Porto boat hire cost ?
Prices depend on group size. For an exclusive 2 hour sail it usually works out about €65 per person. We’ll get you the best rates, which depends on your group size. Ask us for the best quote!
What else do I need to know?
- The cruises described on this page depart from the Douro Marina, Porto.
- Need transport to the marina for this activity? We can offer a low-priced Porto minivan transfer.
- Part of the sail takes place near the mouth of the River Douro. The Atlantic has to be taken seriously and can be choppy.
- The main part of the sail wil take pace in the calm river area near the city.
- Your crew will always conduct the cruise with safety in mind, and at all times and you must heed the rules and advice of the crew.
- Private cruises are available all year around.
- Drinks and/or food are not included in the standard rental rates. You can bring your own drinks on board (for a small additional cleaning fee) – or book drinks or food with us..
- Types of boat available include Rabelo (traditional Porto wine barge), Jeanneau 42 sailboat, Benneteau 42 sailboat, 370 Sundancer, 460 Sundancer, Italcraft 51 and various tyoes of catamaran.
- You should take care not to get belongings wet or damaged, this is your responsibility, not that of the crew or captain.
- Capacity of the vessels varies and could be changed at last minute.
- In the unusual event of changes or cancellations at last minute, we will always attempt to make alternative arrangements for you at other times. Credit card details might be given to the supplier on arrival as damage guarantee.
What clothes should I wear ?
- Casual sports wear (ask us about swim stops, not always possible 1)
- Sun block
- A top or sweater in case it gets cold (depends on the season)
Is the start point easy to get to?
- Cruises depart from the quays on the central Douro River or from nearby Freixo or Douro Marina, all near Porto city centre (no more than 15 mins in a cab journey)
- You can book transfers with us, or just get Ubers or cabs.
- Make sure you arrive on time to check in !
