What is the best time of year for a Porto hen do ?
All year is good! Porto has a great climate and is great to visit all year, not too hot in the summer and never too cold (although it rains in winter).
April to September for the best weather. In May and June the city is very lively with a great buzz.

How much does a Porto hen cost ?

Where is the best nightlife for a Porto hen weekend ?
Nightlife for a Porto hen do is probably one of the most dynamic and entertaining in Portugal. Here are some tips from our local guides:
- The Avenida de los Aliados area is definitely a must-go. You will love the bars of the two main streets: Cândido dos Reis e Galeria de Paris (“right in the city center – everyone goes there and everyone fills its streets with joy at night” )
- Clubbing and bars at Baixa, Ribeira
- Foz do Douro to dance all night long in front of the ocean
- Clubs like Plano B, Tendinha dos Clerigos, Pacha Ofir
What activities are popular for a Porto hen weekend ?
- A must for wine-lovers are the Port wine cellars at Nova de Gaia
- Take a wonderful cruise on the Douro and check out the views and the bridges (and get a few drinks as well). This can be private or public, and we have options to suit all budgets !
- Book a Dinner with a raunchy stripper !
- Book a guided bar crawl or VIP club tables at one of the posh Porto nightclubs. Foz area or atmospheric bars at Ribeira and Baixa.

- Don’t Leave Porto Without:
- Your shoes. Nothing dafter than heels in Porto (or Lisbon). The steep cobbled, pavements and streets will put paid to both any fashionista resolve you may have in this matter, and…to your ankles.
- Necking some Port wine. It’s not only “port” – the whole Douro River valley wine region ends downstream to Porto’s wine cellars, where it is should be unceremoniously necked. That’s where you come in!
- Talking footie to chat up a local lad. This is exactly the opposite of what we recommend for stags. But you’ll get away with with your cheeky charm. A disarmingly naïve comment such as “Benfica are the best team in Portugal, right” should get the ball rolling with a perplexed (but polite) Portuense. If he offers to take you for tripe, you’re in!
- Sailing under the bridges on the river. Fantastic by day or by night, and even better if does with wine by the boat load!
Is Porto easy to get to?
Yes – Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport has frequent flights from many UK and European airports. Flights tend to be low cost as well.
