The Bars and Clubs of Madrid

Clubs of Madrid or Bars ?  Previously we spoke about how you might want to spend your days on a classic Madrid stag weekend. But, of course, it’s at night when the action really heats up and in Madrid, there’s no shortage of choice.

And don’t even think about an early night.

In true Spanish style (and what could be more Spanish than a night out in the country’s capital?) the nightlife of Madrid only gets into full swing way past the witching hour and keeps on partying until the sun peeks over the old buildings at dawn.

The Gran Via

Pretty much the most famous street in Madrid, the Gran Via (Great Way) is the central hub of Madrid’s entertainment and the go to point for tourists and fun-seekers. Many of the Clubs of Madrid are here. Chock full of bars, clubs and restaurants Gran Via is one of the great destinations for stags, hens and general weekend party animals in Europe.

The long street and the raft of alleys and side streets adjacent and filled with tapas bars, cocktail bars and straight up hostelries offering no end of opportunity for good food, good booze and good fun.

Bars such as:

Del Diego

As with much of the Madrid nightlife, there’s a dash of sophistication at play in Del Diego. Regularly classed as one of the premier bars in Madrid this is a cool blend of classy cocktail lounge and cool tapas restaurant yet retaining a sense of lively fun throughout. A venue which positively oozes with the pulse of big city life -Madrileno style.

Matador

If you’re looking for a good old fashioned Spanish boozer then this old saloon just off the Gran Via is a cool little change of pace. Perfect, perhaps, for a few little liveners before the real action kicks-off later into the night?

Night Clubs of Madrid

But to experience the real pulse of a night out in Madrid then it is to the huge array of, well huge clubs. Let us know if you want to book a VIP table, club entrance or queue jump at one of Madrid’s top nightclubs.

Sala Sol

One of the most well-loved and popular resorts in the city, Sala Sol has been an integral part of the Madrid scene since the late 1970s. From soul and funk classics, the music spans the decades before the DJs take over after midnight to fill the air with electronica until the sun comes up.

Joy

Another of the popular hotspots this is one for the techno lovers. From the house dancers to the pumping music and laser lighting this is a classic club venue. The club is centred around a large, sunken dance floor that’s filled with revellers long into every night; surrounded by coolly laid out sofas and tables. You can look down on the action from a wide balcony as the beat ramps up late into the night. As with every other major venue in the city, Joy only really gets going after 3am, as the dance floor fills and sways to the rhythm.
