Every year, before Lent calls away the more religious among us, the beautiful little seaside town of Sitges transforms into a debauched festival of sequins, feathers and frivolity! As we’re not ones to miss out on a party, we charter a bus, fill it with sangria and head to the insanity. The Sitges Carnival is known as one of the greatest parties in Spain!
Sitges Carnival features colourful parades with scantily dressed dancers, street music and live samba bands that celebrate into the night! The largest parade of the festival features about 50 floats with more than 3.000 people performing. The Spain Event’s Sitges Carnival Night takes place on Fat Tuesday each year to coincide with the largest of the parades, The Extermination Parade, a celebration of indulgence before the onset of Lent – so it’s time to let loose while you still can!
During Carnival week, the city of Sitges transforms into a non-stop fiesta! Bars and nightclubs host a seemingly endless list of parties all week long that stay open until the wee hours of the morning!
Our Sitges Carnival Night starts in Barcelona where you begin in festive style at the centrally located George Payne Irish Bar for a pre-party with a litre of sangria to get you in the carnival spirit! Our coach departs for the 40 minute journey south to the city of Sitges. With our English-speaking guide you will be shown where the hotspots of the Carnival are, and where the best spot to witness the Extermination Parade is. It’s time to party to the Samba!
Go large on Fat Tuesday! Make your visit to Spain extraordinary and join us for the most massive carnival in Spain! Our guide will make sure you get to the heart of the action, and also introduce you to the little delicacies you might otherwise miss – make sure you taste the famous xatonada of Sitges, a delicious salad made with the region’s traditional xató sauce! You are going to witness some epic floats festooned with scantily class dancers and fantastic feathers! This is a festival to let loose your inhibitions and celebrate debauchery!
