Available every day of the year with start times available all day.
Cruises depart from Freixo Marina or Douro Marina, near Porto city centre (approx 15 mins in a cab journey) Or choose Ribeira do Porto departure point which is in the heart of the city.

Includes exclusive boat with skipper, boat, fuel, insurance and crew.
Not included: Accommodation, food & beverage (unless booked additionally), visits to museums and wineries
An additional fee for after dark navigation applies.

What else do I need to know?

Need transport to the marina for this activity? We can offer a low-priced Porto minivan transfer.
Part of the sail takes place near the mouth of the River Douro. The Atlantic has to be taken seriously and can be choppy.
The main part of the sail will take pace in the calm river area near the city.
Your crew will always conduct the cruise with safety in mind, and at all times and you must heed the rules and advice of the crew.
Private cruises are available all year around.
Drinks and/or food are not included in the standard rental rates. You can bring your own drinks on board (for a small additional cleaning fee) - or book drinks or food with us..

Conditions of Boat Rental

It is your responsibility to arrive at least 15 mins before sailing time at the dockside
Remember this is near the Atlantic Ocean and at certain times of the year the seas can be choppy or weather may not be 100% calm.
The vessels described on this page are sailing boats. If you wish to book a catamaran, please discuss this explicitly with us.

You should take care not to get belongings wet or damaged, this is your responsibility, not that of the crew or captain.
Capacity of the vessels varies and could be changed at last minute.
Transport to the departure point is not included, but ask us if you would like to book transport from your hotel.
The crew and captain are mainly concerned about your safety, as well as your enjoyment. Drunken misbehaviour or nuisance-causing will not be tolerated.
The captain's decisions about whether it is safe to sail, based on weather conditions, will be final.
Sailings sometimes have to be cancelled due to weather conditions. If this happens we or the crew will always endeavour to let you know as far in advance as possible.
In the unusual event of changes or cancellations at last minute, we will always attempt to make alternative arrangements for you at other times. Credit card details might be given to the supplier on arrival as damage guarantee.

Spend a fantastic few hours out on a boat in the Douro river. It’s a great way to make a memorable day for your stag or hen. Our boat rent Porto options suit all budgets and all tastes. Don’t worry if you have never sailed before it’s all very easy. All you have to do is get to the departure point (at Freixo Marina or Douro Marina, both only 10 – 15 mins from Porto city centre by cab). Or choose Ribeira do Porto departure point which is in the heart of the city.

You can add a few drinks or tapas food at minimal extra cost, or even take your own drinks if you wish (ask us about which options that is permitted for). Sailings can last from one hour to all day (or more). You can add fishing gear, and even water sports and inflatables for some charter options. We’ll be glad to let you know about that too. Boats come in all shapes and sizes, usually with capacity for 8 – 16 persons (although we can go higher if you can!)

You’re good to Goa (like Vasco )?

Even if you are not exactly Vasco de Gama (and to be honest you probably wouldn’t have time to get to Goa anyway), you’ll love the chilled out moments and spectacular views of sailing near Porto. Check out the bridges and the mouth of the river at the Atlantic Ocean.

In general for boat rent Porto we recommend larger boats for longer sails. You’ll have more space to chill out. Catamaran fans can also check out our Porto Catamaran option. The boats we use are all ship shape (Porto is home to passionate sailors with a great tradition – boat aficionados and professionals).

Sailing from Freixo Marina (or Douro Marina)

The port of departure is Freixo marina. We also offer boat rentals from Douro Marina another harbour near Porto city. This is a short cab ride from Porto city centre . You can also book a minivan transfer with us). You’ll sail under the famous iron bridges and along past the wine cellars on the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the city.

Chill for the afternoon

This one is a big hit with groups of all types. The river affords the best views possible of this atmospheric city. You’ll see the wineries and historic buildings bobbing past. And contemplate jumping ship to one of the wine barges.
